2018 Legislative Session and 2017 Interim Update

2018 Legislative Session and 2017 Interim
The IVMA spent much of the legislative interim working with the Idaho Board of Pharmacy regarding a major re-write and cutting of its current rules and regulations. As part of the re-write, the BOP was looking to make major changes to its current fee structure. As the IVMA had worked hard to protect the BOVM in 2017, it was imperative that members not be hit with another fee increase during the 2018 legislative session. Through several conversations with BOP staff, we were able to keep all fees at current levels, as well as delete a couple unnecessary registrations. Following is a breakdown of the final changes:

Veterinary Drug Technician
Current Fee – $35
New Fee – $0
Deleted the registration from BOP Rule

Veterinary Drug Outlets
Current Fee – $100
New Fee – $0
Deleted the registration from BOP Rule

Prescriber Drug Outlets
Current Fee – $35
Proposed Fee – $100
New Animal Fee – $35
New Human Fee – $100

Other 2018 legislative issues either lobbied or tracked by the IVMA included:
All BOP laws changes
Pet friendly license plate
Administrative hearing officer legislation
Cannabidiol Oil (CBD) legislation
