A highly anticipated tradition going back many years continued its streak during the 2026 conference. The annual steak fry and auction was held on Friday night, June 12 at McEuen Park adjacent to the Coeur d’Alene Resort.
Thanks to the hard work and support from the staff of Boehringer-Ingelheim and MWI Animal Health, the event (and food) was a major hit. IVMA President Dr. Robert Pierce, joined by a fellow member of his local band One Dog Down, entertained the crowd with a mix of tunes ranging from country western to Americana.
With the generous donations from attendees and assistance from professional auctioneer Tucker Cool, over $7,000 was raised to support veterinary student scholarships through the Idaho Veterinary Medical Foundation (IVMF).
With this year’s added dollars, the IVMF account has grown to $63,000. These dollars will establish up to two endowed scholarships for Idaho students attending WSU Veterinary School with future consideration for the same at the new veterinary school at Utah State University.
