Dr. Eri Togami is a One Health fellow at the One Health Institute, School of Veterinary Medicine at UC Davis, where she addresses global health challenges at the animal, human, and environmental interface. Her current work focuses on PREDICT, a viral emergence early warning project that is part of the U.S. Agency for International Development’s (USAID) Emerging Pandemic Threats Program. She also is involved with the Global Virome Project, which aims to characterize the majority of the earth’s zoonotic viruses. Dr. Togami also serves as subcommittee member and staff of the U.S. National Academies’ One Health Action Collaborative.
Originally from Tokyo, Dr. Togami studied veterinary medicine at Nippon Veterinary and Life Science University in Japan, and earned her Master of Public Health in infectious disease epidemiology at Yale School of Public Health. Dr. Togami worked as an intern at the World Health Organization (WHO) in Fiji and later as a consultant at WHO Western Pacific Regional Office in the Philippines, supporting emerging infectious disease surveillance and outbreak response in the Asia and Pacific region.
