This survey is being conducted by faculty members at Colorado State University with the goal of better understanding veterinarians’ attitudes and behaviors related to physical activity for both animal and owner health. The collective evidence of a positive relationship between physical activity and health in both people and animals suggests that implementation of outdoor, dog-associated activities to increase activity may synergistically enhance both human and dog health. Pilot studies at specialty veterinary clinics have shown that veterinarian prescribed physical activity programs are feasible and successful, but little is known about activity promotion in primary care veterinary clinics.
